Therapy for ADHD

How can therapy help ADHD?

After many years of working with clients with ADHD and their families, some of our clinicians at Inner Growth Therapy have decided to pursue an ADHD certification. This certification requires completing additional hours and training on ADHD assessment and treatment, introductory psychopharmacology, educational management of ADHD as well as continued annual training. This has helped not only gain more tools and tricks to share with clients, but has also expanded their ability to help clients of all ages.

Therapy can help clients understand, manage and work with their diagnosis in order to meet their personal goals in all aspects of their lives. Things can get better and they can be easier. A diagnosis of ADHD does not mean you cannot succeed in the goals you want for yourself, or your kids.

We sometimes think of ADHD as something that mainly affects children in school. But that is not the case at all!

ADHD isn't all negative!

Therapy helps clients understand the positive aspects of the way they think and interpret the world around them. There are plenty of positive aspects to this diagnosis that aren't always talked about, but are important!

So what is ADHD anyway?

Therapy can help clients understand the diagnosis, as well as the ways in which it personally impacts their lives. This is very helpful in understanding yourself and also to find out how to support yourself on a daily basis.

Customizing Tips and Tricks

Therapy helps by identifying tools to integrate into your every day life, in order to help manage ADHD and meet your personal goals. During sessions, time is spent helping customize "real life" and user-friendly tools for you to try.

Not only is ADHD not exclusive to kids, but it also affects people in areas other than just school or work. ADHD can impact every aspect of someone’s life, professionally, academically, socially, emotionally, behaviorally, etc.

Things can get better and they can be easier. A diagnosis of ADHD does not mean you cannot succeed in the goals you want for yourself, or your kids.
